In Combat -- Remember the Ladies 1776 — American Revolution Women’s T‑Shirt

Women served the revolutionary cause in many ways, but the women featured on this shirt actually served in combat.  Deborah Sampson disguised herself as a man, enlisted and served 17 months before being discovered.  Margaret Corbin, a nurse, accompanied her husband to the Battle of Fort Washington.  There she saw her husband hit and die, then took his place at a cannon and kept it firing.  Molly Pitcher bought water to men in the Battle of Monmouth, also replacing a cannoneer when he was hit. Nancy Hart was on the Georgia frontier, spying on loyalist soldiers and keeping rebel troops aware of their movements.  She also engaged in skirmishes with loyalist troops.
